Giants Sell-Out of $1000 PSLs

The New York Giants have sold out of upper deck $1000 PSLs for the new Stadium. Some $4,000 and $10,000 PSLs are still available from the Giants.

Average Prices for NFL Tickets Rise

According to Team Marketing Report’s annual survey of ticket prices reports that the average price to an NFL ticket has risen 3.9% to 74.99, mainly due to the new ticket pricing scheme at the Dallas Cowboy’s new Cowboys Stadium. The Cowboys have the highest priced average ticket cost at $159.65. The highest average ticket price in 2009 for New England Patriots tickets which have kept prices the same in 2009. If the Cowboys had kept their prices the same, then price for an NFL ticket would only have been 0.6 percent higher than 2008’s $72.20. Other teams with other high average ticket prices include the Chicago Bears, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets. Prices for the 2010 football season are sure to rise next year as the New York Giants and New York Jets both move into their new home, the New Giants stadium. Link to 2009 NFL Fan Cost Index PDF.

Stubhub ranks the top ten NFL football game tickets

Stubhub has ranked the top ten NFL football game tickets for the 2009-10 season. Brett Fave has made Vikings tickets a much hotter tickets, while the Chicago Bear’s fans also have their hopes pinned on a new QB. Over 1000 tickets must be sold to make Stubhub’s top ten NFL Ticket list.

NFL Football 2009-10 Hot Ticket Outlook

The NFL kicksoff Thursday September 10th at the Tennesseee Titans visit the 2009 Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Brette Farve has Vikings fans psyched up and the Vikings will visit Arizona, Carolina, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, St Louis and Green Bay’s Lambeau Field. The Vikings will also host the Packers. Other NFL games of note for the 2009-10 season incude New England at Denver, NY Giants at the Cowboy’s Cowboys Stadium and Dallas at Denver. The Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers will also visit the Ravens, Bears, Browns, Broncos, Lions, Chiefs and Dolphins.

Usc travels to Ohio State and has games versus Washington, California, Notre Dame, Oregon, Arizona St, UCLA and Arizona.

Notre Dame plays USC, Michigan, Boston College, Navy, Pittsburgh, and Connecticut.

Chicago Seeking Tax On Bears’ Permanent Seat Licenses

As reported in the Chicago Tribune, the city of Chicago is looking to collect a city-issued amusement tax from Chicago Bears permanent seat license (PSL) owners saying they owe up to seven years of taxes for their PSLs.

Giants and Jets PSLs

Really seems like the Giants and Jets may have picked the exact worst time to get into the Personal Seat License market.

The new stadium took so long to get funding and get approved that the Giants and Jets seem to have been counting their chickens before they hatched. It may have seemed like a great modern idea a few years ago, but with the economy in turmoil, how can the Giants and especially the Jets ask their long-time loyal fans to shell out tens of thousands of hard earned dollars for the right to pay thousands of dollars for tickets to eight football games (possibly 9 in the future)? Forget about the fact that businesses are not spending money on tickets for clients like they used to.

PSLs used to mean that the owner had the right to buy tickets for every event at that stadium, who gets priority when Bruce Springsteen plays the new venue? The Jets will have upper sections that will not have PSLs, but both teams seem willing to screw over a generation of football fans for the lure of easy cash. What happens if those PSLs don’t sell? Will there be empty seats or will the Jets and Giants blink and reduce the price of the PSLs?

Ticketmaster has put tickets on sale for the NFL football match-up between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots to be played at Wembley Stadium in Middlesex on Sunday October 25, 2009.
